Lincoln Lamar Van Huss

My sister had her baby boy this past Saturday bringing the total number of cousins on the Gray side to 6! To keep in tradition of the past 2 cousins born with an L- name, they named their new son Lincoln. Okay not really, but it is kind of cool that we now have a Lola, Landon, and Lincoln :) His middle name is Lamar after my mother's father who was an amazing person and grandfather. Lincoln was born at 5: 07am weighing 7 lbs 14 oz and measured 20 in long. He has a TON of dark hair and beautiful little features :) He is so handsome and sweet and we love him so very much already!! When my sister called Friday night at 9pm saying she was going into the hospital, I quickly packed my bag and drove down to St George with my Brother Taylor who has been staying with us for the last week (my parents also left Denver at the same time but got in a few hours later at 9am) We arrived at 2am and she was ready to push a little before 5. I was so honored that she asked me to stay in the room with her and Matt to help coach and be the camera lady. It was my first time witnessing (and photographing) a birth (besides my own, but even with Lola, I didnt watch) so do excuse me if the pictures arent of the greatest quality... It was really exciting to be there when Lincoln was welcomed into the world and I will never forget the experience. Thank you Matt and Oobie for letting me share that special time with you! I am so excited for them to start their family and I hope that it is everything they dreamed of. And Lincoln is the perfect beginning :)

Taylor, Paige and I just before the delivery
He's here!!

*Little side note: When my sister got closer to her due date, we all put in our guesses for date, weight/height and time of birth. I won 3 of the 4 guesses with the exact date, exact weight and closest to the time by 7 minutes!! How well do I know my little nephew already?!

Proud (and pretty tired) new Mommy
Very proud new Daddy :)
And a pretty excited Auntie :)
Handsome little man
Holding on to his Daddy's finger. Too precious!
A smile for his favorite Auntie Syd!

Ill be going back down in a few days to spend the week with the Van Huss' so there will be plenty more pictures of this handsome boy to come :)

Misc. Pics.- June

Saying hi to her friend in the (dirty) mirror...
and giving her kisses

Watching out the window for the doggies

Being totally entertained with a box
One of her new favorite 'tricks'- lean over upside down for a cool new view :)

A Lola style cheeser smile

I asked Brooklyn to watch Lola for 5 minutes and I found them in Brooklyn's room where she had set up a play-station for Lola with toys that were safe for her to play with. What a smart and helpful big sister :)

Lola enjoying a breathing treatment for her asthma. She is doing much better now and only wheezes a little around some dogs and certain places outside. She has been great about using the inhalers and nebulizer.

Learning to climb into her buggy by herself...

Ta-Da! This is her way of saying Yay for me! (We always clap and say yay when she does something new, cute, or asked to)

The many cute faces of our Lola Viola...

Playing outside in her little pool. Have you noticed yet that she LOVES to be naked?!? Plus its summer and hot and who can say no to a little naked bum running around :)

Lola with her block bag that she thinks is a purse :) She puts her favorite little toys inside it and then carries it ALL around the house and lately has started carrying in on her arm like so. Too cute! One of these days Ill have to buy her a really cute girly purse even though I think she likes this one so much bc its see through and she knows exactly what she has in there :)

Denver

We had a few fun days in Denver hanging out with our family. Our nephew Landon is such a little sweetheart. He just turned 6 months this past weekend but has already passed Lola up in weight (by 2 pounds!!) He loves to stand up and is getting really close to sitting on his own and pre-creep! What a big boy he is becoming! Lola wasnt quite the bully we expected her to be but she did have her moments and Landon was a great sport about it :) She really loved to tease and bully Reggie, my parents little dog. Every time she came around he went running for cover or into his crate to hide :)

Visit to Grammy's work to weigh the babies. Lola: 18.2 and Landon: 20.1

Lola's new favorite sleeping position: The Stinkbug :)

Lola found Aunt Ally's keys and purse and she was ready to go out. She loves to hold cell phones (and remotes) to her ear and carries her little bag on her arm at home. What a little girly-girl she is already!

Fun times on the new swing Bonka put up for the grand-babies. Both times Landon dozed off. Such is the life of a baby :)

Swim time in the new kiddie pool. Landon LOVED it. Lola, not so much. She liked crawling out of it every time we put her in. Silly girl.

A happy boy swimming with his Daddy :)

A Fourth To Remember

We spent our holiday weekend in Denver this year. The weather was amazing the first few days of our trip but did a major 180 the day of the 4th. The morning of we went to the city fair and Lola saw ponies and had her very first taste of Cotton Candy. She was definitely a fan. Later that day, we scouted for the perfect spot to watch fireworks and set up. But when we drove back to it that evening, it had started to rain. Hard. It rained, and poured and even hailed! We camped out in our car to wait it out hoping that it would clear up by fireworks time but it never did. They canceled the show and we went home. It was just as well because Luke and my Dad had set off some smaller fireworks in the parking lot for Lola earlier and she HATED them. She would crawl into my lap and cry and try to hide her face anywhere in my shirt that she could. It was really sad but cute at the same time. Maybe by next year she will decide they're not so bad and even get excited over them. But as lame as the weather was, we had a lot of fun trying to cram all 6 of us (comfortably) into the back of my moms suv and watch the 2 grown boys play with their fireworks in the rain :) Happy Fourth everyone! I hope yours was a good one.
