Miss Sassy

Our Brooklyn is a very outgoing, energentic, spunky, stubborn and VERY independent 5 year old. She loves to act CRAZY all the time. Anytime and anywhere too. She loves attention and will dance, scream, whine, demand and even cry for it. Whatever it takes. Its not too hard to want to be with her all the time and devote every minute you have to her bc she's so adorable and so impatiant when it comes to you noticing her!! Once when she was 3 or so she came over wearing these shorts that were almost like boy shorts. She said these are my "sassy" shorts. To hear a 3 year old say sassy was way too funny. I wonder who she heard that one from?? Anyway like I said before she's not one to pose but when she put on my 70's Retro Sunglasses she was ready for the camera. Those big glasses on her little head...too cute. She would claim sassy I'm sure. Thats our Brooks.

The Best of Friends

These are my 2 babies. The white/grey one is a Ragdoll breed (which hold the world record for largest domestic cats) and he definitely lives up to his name "Chancho" (which means PIG in spanish). Him's is a big baby. Chancho just turned 1 in January. With Lucas and I working full time we (really I) felt Chancho needed a friend to play with during the day. So that is how 'Ramsis" (the arch enemy of Nacho Libre) came about. We bought him this last Feb. and he will be 1 in Nov. At first they did not take to each other at all! Chancho curious as he is would step closer and closer to Ramsis, Ramsis would hiss louder and louder until Chancho would get scared and hiss back then run away. Then one day we came home from work and they were all the sudden joined at the hip. They do everything together now. If Chancho needs a drink then so does Ramsis. If Ramsis runs to the window to watch the birds then so does Chancho. The same goes for their naps they have even started sleeping in the same positions. Cute and weird but I still love them the same. They will always be my kitties and I hope they never get lost and die of starvation or eaten by a wolf like my first true love, Elvis, another cat that I will have to blog about in memorandum of his greatness. Anyway hope you like my baby pics of the boys and dont worry I have many more pics of them coming your way.... Chancho and Ramsis Rock!!

To My "Practically Perfect in Every Way" Mother (MP)

I know Im a few days late on this but if you buy it Mom its bc I was trying to collect all my thoughts. I just wanted to take this Mother's Day to let my Mother know that she is the greatest Momma in the whole world. I know everyone says that but seriously my mom kicks all moms asses!! I know that my mom probably wonders everyday why she was punished with me for a child but I believe in karma and also I beleive that my mother REALLY is Mary Poppins and Practically Perfect in Every Way. So who better to raise me? I have never once doubted that my momma loves me. I can see it in her eyes and in the way she holds me. She has told me everyday since I can remember that she loves me (best) and shes always telling me how much she wants me to be happy and she will do anything for me. I know I have put alot of stress on my Mother this last year (or longer) and I just wanted to thank her for standing by me every step of the way and encouraging me to press on. Lots of people say we look alike and act exactly alike. And I couldnt be any prouder to be just like my momma. She is beautiful and strong and stubborn and smart and everything quality wise you could ask for. I hope that I will have many many more Mothers day with my mother. I couldnt live without her. EVER. She is the best thing to take me on and I feel no one could love me nor understand me more. Thank you Momma for being there for me since day 1 and continuing to be there for me even today. I wish more than anything that I could see you everyday and we could share secrets and lunches and shopping sprees anyday we felt like it. Thank you for choosing me to be your daughter and accepting my request to have you as my mother. You are truly amazing and what keeps me going and you dont know how big I smile when I see you call (and when I got your card yesterday too) you light up my life so that I can wakie shine for you everyday!!!

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, As long as I'm living my Momma you'll be.

We had Brooklyn yesterday and since it was FINALLY warm outside she wanted to go draw outside with her chalk. We drew the Ocean and a tree with purple berries and dresses that were fit for a Princess to wear. Although I hate chalk with a passion I gritted my teeth while it scraped along the sidewalk and was happy to hear that Brooklyn approved of my drawings. She insisted on touching up some of the flaws and helping Daddy out alot. He's not such a good drawer of Princess dresses she said. Daddy took some pictures of our sweet baby and she even gave him 1 pose which she usually never does. She hates the camera?! We had a good time and it took a while for me to get rid of my upset stomach from the feeling of the chalk grinding on the bumpy road. Way too sick....

Easter With Brooklyn (03/22/08)

We have Luke's 5 year old daughter Brooklyn once a week. Usually on Saturdays. We were lucky enough to have her Sat. Mar 22 the day before Easter. She had come the week before and we colored eggs. Even though we werent planning on eating them a week later we still hid them for her to find. While we were playing Tinkerbell Tea Party Luke got a "call" on his cell from the Easter bunny letting him know that he had come early and hid eggs and baskets just for Brooklyn (bc he knew she would be there on a saturday). I will never forget her face light up when she heard daddy say "Hello? Oh hi Easter Bunny... Whats that? You came early just for Brooks?" She was so CUTE! She immediately jumps up and yells "Lets get our baskets and find all the eggs and eat all the candy until its gone!!" So we set out for eggs and of course we let her find them all. Every time she saw one she would go Ahh! really loud and point to it as she ran for it. Every egg was such a surprise. It was way fun and could have lasted all day... After we counted she had 20 or so eggs and daddy and I had 2 each. She way beat us :) Auntie Paige was there also to join in the fun. Our baskets had plenty of treats and toys. Daddy got movies, gift cards, and Rogaine!! Brooks got a movie, My Littlest Pet Shops, a puzzle, Hello Kitty electric toothbrush, Tinkerbell lipgloss and much more. I got lots of chocolate and a CD and special underpanties from the Easter Bunny. He's soo thoughtful ;) The best part was that we all got Bunny Ears and Brooklyn got a Purple Flower Headband. So we wore them to take pictures and then Brooks asks me what the special things were that came in the pink Vic. Secret bag from the Easter bunny. First thing that came to mind....Um yeah... they are silly hats! She wants to wear them for the camera too. I couldnt resist. It was a silly Easter and much better turn out then last years attempt. Happy Easter from the Benik's!
