Five Months

Lola was 5 months on the 13th. Once again time flew by faster than ever. She continues to get (a little) bigger, smarter and way cuter with each passing day. We love her so much and enjoy every day and memory we get to create with her. This past month, Lola actually hasnt grown a whole lot. She weighed almost 13 lbs at 4 1/2 months but has not been eating as much the last week or so and dropped back down to the higher side of 12 lbs. She wore her 0-3 months clothes all the way up until about 2 weeks ago but she still drowns in most of her 3-6 months outfits. She's pretty petite! 2 days after turning 5 months she rolled completely over from back to front all by herself! Now she rolls non stop when you lay her down. So far she only rolls to her left and will keep going until she runs into something or you turn her around to roll back the other way. And she loves, loves, loves to sit up! She is always trying to lift her head and body up when shes laying down. If she gets a good grip on anything stationary, she can pull herself to sitting position fairly easy. Were working on getting her stable while sitting, letting go and seeing how long she can hold herself up. Its like a 100th of a second longer than the day before but hey, its progress!! She has finally found her feet and loves to try and get them in her hands. She laughs a lot more now too. Its a mix between a giggle and a cough but its still pretty cute. She laughs when Daddy or I do a silly dance or tickle her or play peek a boo with her. She graduated to her crib for bedtime a few weeks ago and she did it all on her own the very first night. We laid her down and she put herself right to sleep and has done so every night since. She still naps in her swing but not as well, it takes her longer to fall asleep bc she wants to be out and playing. I have to go give her binki a few times and restart the music and remind her its nap time. But then she still goes down for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours and sometimes longer. She has always napped better and longer when shes moving whether its in the car or the swing, so Im afraid of what nap time will be like when the swing doesnt work anymore! We also started solids about 2 weeks ago and Lola loves eating her cereal. Im still only doing rice cereal and only at night as she has tummy issues and is already taking Miralax everyday to help her tummy. So well see how she does with the cereal before adding fruits and veggies. Since starting to eat her "own" food, she now way stares us down while we eat with this look like "Arent you going to share that?!" She'll even open her mouth when we go to put our spoon/fork into our own mouth. Its pretty funny. Just in the last 2 days she has been teething, Im pretty sure. She way cries out all of the sudden and out of nowhere and will almost become inconsolable until I get her a cold teething toy and then she'll chew the crap out of it for a few minutes and be fine. So Im going with it being teething... Poor thing. On top of that, Lola is still the worlds most adorable baby girl and my favorite thing in the world. I cant get enough of her and I absolutely love our time together. I cant wait to celebrate the upcoming holidays with our beautiful daughter, including my personal favorite, Halloween!
