I Heart Fall

I posted this last year but you get to hear it again...I LOVE Fall!! And Halloween. It is my absolute favorite time of year. I have always loved Halloween as a little girl and with my birthday also falling during the season, it has become a time that I really look forward to. I love decorating for the season and Holiday and making all the treats and goodies that come with it... sugar cookies, caramel apples, chili, corn chowder and pumpkin rolls just to name a few! Our decorations are already up despite Luke's complaining that its way too early still. But really, 6 weeks isn't all that early to start celebrating your favorite holiday. Right?!
I definitely love the fall weather too! Its cooled off just enough to not be hot but not so much so that its freezing yet. Its makes it so nice to be outside enjoying the last few weeks of great weather knowing that Winter will be here before we know it.
And I cant forget about football season either. I have actually taken quite an interest in the sport since dating Luke and am now (mostly) proud to cheer for BYU. And its become even more fun now that I have little Lola to dress up on game days. I'm pretty sure that if there were a contest for cutest fan baby ever, Lola would win. Hands down! :)

Look who learned 'Touchdown!'

and while I'm posting cougar-wear pics, here are a couple more (from last season). I cant believe its been a whole year since these were taken!

First Haircut

I finally gave in and had Lolie's baby-mullet trimmed. We didn't cut her bangs because they're almost long enough already to tuck behind her ear and that will be super cute when she finally can. And I didn't bawl like I thought I would but I'd be lying if I didn't admit I shed one tiny tear. I very much dislike that my little baby girl is growing up faster than I can handle...Sigh. But Auntie Paige did an awesome job and even though some of her curls are gone, Lola still looks like Lola and all is well :) Thanks Sister!

Lincoln's Blessing

Our nephew Lincoln was blessed this last weekend in St George. We were excited to go and see him since it had already been almost a month since we'd been there last and he is just oh-so-cute! We spent Saturday getting ready for the blessing and brunch, watched BYU sadly lose their second game and all faught over Lincoln. I cant believe how much he has grown in one month but he is still as handsome and sweet as ever!

A happy boy full of smiles...
until cousin Lola comes and pokes him in the face!
Brooklyn loved holding little Lincoln and was much sweeter with him than her little sister :)

Blessing day. The cute family- Paige, Matt and Lincoln
Of course Lincoln was such the angel that day. Never made a peep and slept soundly while 100 people held and loved on him. And how cute is his little outfit?! Paige had borrowed a really cute one from a friend but when my mom got into town she surprised Paige with one that my late Grandmother had made so Paige knew that was the one Lincoln should wear on his special day. And he looked absolutely adorable in it :)

Daddy with his baby boy
Bonka and Lola. Poor baby girl caught a cold the night before and hardly slept so she was pretty tired and out of it. Hence the lack of smiles and happy faces from her.
Uncle Taylor being a cute uncle

And unrelated: Just before we left to come home, Brooklyn stepped in some fire ants outside and got bit on her feet. After rubbing ice cubes on them she then went and found some bug spray and started carrying it around with her saying she was ready to spray any more bugs that came near her feet again!! This girl... so very silly :)

Park Days

We really lucked out moving into a neighborhood that has a huge and awesome park one street behind us. The girls love going for walks to play at the park. And with the last few weeks of decent weather upon us, we try to go almost every day. I had to capture some pictures for us to see and remember better days when it gets to be freezing and snowing outside.

Labor Day Weekend

We spent our holiday weekend in, you guessed it, Denver. Where else?! We are big on family at our house and we try to spend most holidays and long weekends with each other. My parents have been great to come out here a lot this year and so it was our turn to head out there. We love it and love being with them so its not too big of a deal. However, with Lola being older now and not able to nap so frequently in the car anymore, we've decided that we will be flying the next few times we go until she likes the car a little better. Its rough being a very active 1 year old and confined to a car seat for that long of a time plus Luke thinks he's too old to do the driving through the night thing anymore!! We had fun hanging out with Bonka and Grammie, Uncle Taylor, Uncle Nathan, Aunt Ally and Cousin Landon. We even went to the zoo and Lola was in heaven this time. Not at all afraid. She was like "Been there, done that!" We also caught the BYU game while out there and were glad to see them win their first game of the season. Go Cougars!!

Momma's just-woken-up beautie
One of Lola's favorite people- Uncle Tay Tay!
Taking a break from shopping for a yummy snack of Goldfishes
Sporting some fan wear for the Cougs

Trip to the Denver Zoo

Checking out all the amazing zoo animals
A monkey with his little peter hanging out
Some gorillas. I like the one in the back who's posing against the wall with his butt out as if he's impersonating Ignacio's pose from Nacho Libre :)
Lola and her handsome Daddy
A Mandrill
And my favorite- the cute Giraffes

Proof

...that Lola needs a haircut. Bad. Good thing Auntie Paige is going to give her her first one this weekend. Unfortunately (for me) a baby's first haircut is inevitable...and so is my crying when it happens.
