Sunshine, Silliness, and Sisters

We went to San Diego last weekend for the BYU game and some warm sunny weather. Brooklyn was also there with her mother that weekend so we were able to spend a couple of days with her. We went to the beach, Scripps Ranch Aquarium and made many trips to the hotel pool. I love to watch Brooklyn and her Daddy play/spend time together. They are such the 2 peas in a pod and both act the same (Brooklyn's) age! Equally keeping me on my toes at all times and always making me laugh at the silliest of things. I love that Brooklyn is so into Luke. She thinks everything he says and does is the greatest. If only... We try to hold on to every moment and memory of these precious times with her bc it wont be long before she's 15 going on 21 and we are so totally like not cool anymore :)

My 3 favorite people in the WHOLE world

Brooklyn is a great big sister to Lola. She always gets so excited over her, laying on the kisses and attention and smothering (in the best way possible of course). Brooklyn loves playing with her now that Lola is laughing and interacting more too. Brooklyn spent a lot of time holding and cuddling her, reading books to her, and helping her play with toys. I definitely enjoyed when Brooklyn would go crazy doing anything and everything she could to make Lola giggle hysterically. It was so infectious and I would be laughing so hard as well! Kids (especially our Brooklyn!!) are silly and so very much fun to have around :)

Pumpkin Patch

Fall is my most favorite time of year. The colors, the smells, the crisp air on my cheeks... and I even look forward to Football. It also holds my favorite holiday, Halloween. It has been my favorite ever since I was a little girl. Not so much for dressing up, but for decorating and of course eating WAY too much treats! I still get giddy when the Halloween decorations begin to appear in stores. I want to buy everything! (and usually do, which is probably why my house is most decorated during these months) and spend countless hours in the kitchen baking all the goodies that come with the fall season :) In hopes to pass on my love and excitement for this time of year, Luke and I took Lola to a pumpkin patch so she could see the fall colors and feel the brisk air. She was such a sweetie, letting me pose her for endless pictures in and around the pumpkins. And Luke humored me as well, letting me buy more pumpkins than I needed, while I insisted I did because I am going to make pumpkin pie from scratch and decorate that one like this and yada ya... Here are some pics of our little fall beauty:

Later that evening Lola worked on sitting up by herself. She even sat long enough for me to grab my camera. Such a big girl!

Five Months

Lola was 5 months on the 13th. Once again time flew by faster than ever. She continues to get (a little) bigger, smarter and way cuter with each passing day. We love her so much and enjoy every day and memory we get to create with her. This past month, Lola actually hasnt grown a whole lot. She weighed almost 13 lbs at 4 1/2 months but has not been eating as much the last week or so and dropped back down to the higher side of 12 lbs. She wore her 0-3 months clothes all the way up until about 2 weeks ago but she still drowns in most of her 3-6 months outfits. She's pretty petite! 2 days after turning 5 months she rolled completely over from back to front all by herself! Now she rolls non stop when you lay her down. So far she only rolls to her left and will keep going until she runs into something or you turn her around to roll back the other way. And she loves, loves, loves to sit up! She is always trying to lift her head and body up when shes laying down. If she gets a good grip on anything stationary, she can pull herself to sitting position fairly easy. Were working on getting her stable while sitting, letting go and seeing how long she can hold herself up. Its like a 100th of a second longer than the day before but hey, its progress!! She has finally found her feet and loves to try and get them in her hands. She laughs a lot more now too. Its a mix between a giggle and a cough but its still pretty cute. She laughs when Daddy or I do a silly dance or tickle her or play peek a boo with her. She graduated to her crib for bedtime a few weeks ago and she did it all on her own the very first night. We laid her down and she put herself right to sleep and has done so every night since. She still naps in her swing but not as well, it takes her longer to fall asleep bc she wants to be out and playing. I have to go give her binki a few times and restart the music and remind her its nap time. But then she still goes down for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours and sometimes longer. She has always napped better and longer when shes moving whether its in the car or the swing, so Im afraid of what nap time will be like when the swing doesnt work anymore! We also started solids about 2 weeks ago and Lola loves eating her cereal. Im still only doing rice cereal and only at night as she has tummy issues and is already taking Miralax everyday to help her tummy. So well see how she does with the cereal before adding fruits and veggies. Since starting to eat her "own" food, she now way stares us down while we eat with this look like "Arent you going to share that?!" She'll even open her mouth when we go to put our spoon/fork into our own mouth. Its pretty funny. Just in the last 2 days she has been teething, Im pretty sure. She way cries out all of the sudden and out of nowhere and will almost become inconsolable until I get her a cold teething toy and then she'll chew the crap out of it for a few minutes and be fine. So Im going with it being teething... Poor thing. On top of that, Lola is still the worlds most adorable baby girl and my favorite thing in the world. I cant get enough of her and I absolutely love our time together. I cant wait to celebrate the upcoming holidays with our beautiful daughter, including my personal favorite, Halloween!

Lola Likes

Lola had her first solids the other day. A little rice cereal with milk. She way loved it and of course was totally mad when it was gone :)

First bites
she ate all the cereal and then tried to eat the spoon too...

Silly Lolie :)

Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend

I have been debating this for over a month now. To pierce or not to pierce. I love earrings on little girls and even more so on little baby girls. While I really wanted to have Lola's ears done early, I couldnt bear the thought of hurting her. The more I thought about it though and more people I talked to (including her pediatrician) I realized that if we were going to do it, it was better to do it now before she is old enough to grab and pull on her ears possibly making the healing more difficult. I knew it would only hurt for a minute or two and that she would forget all about it as soon as we walked out. It was just the thought of holding her down like that... Scary! Well, I finally got the courage to do it today and drove straight to the mall before I could change my mind. Auntie Breecia came with us and manned the camera so that Lola could have these lasting images of this ultra important day in her life :)

Here she is 2 minutes before...
right after the first one...
and all finished. Boy was she mad. And screaming this very loud "How could you?" It was awful. I cried too. Shortly after, she was all smiles again and Im so glad we did it. They are soooo cute!
We tried taking a picture straight on, but her way chubber cheeks are in the way!! Haha
If you look closely enough you can see them. They are little square diamonds and they look so precious on her. I just know she loves them too and cant wait to start on her earring collection :)

Misc. Pics- September

Little Lolie supporting on Game Day. I realize that she looks kind of like a boy in these pics (thanks Paige), but I think she looks adorable in blue :)Always sucking on her fingers. Funny girl
...and look who has a NECK!!

We went to breakfast at Maglebys in Provo with Britt. Their pancakes are too yummy and the syrup is sooooo good. And of course we didnt leave without some chocolate cake. That stuff is heaven and my absolute favorite in the whole world!
We went to Vegas with Daddy for a conference and tried to soak up the last little bit of summer. Auntie Paige came too. We did some hanging out by the pool and ate lots of yummy food. It was a nice break from the everyday :)
Some tummy time fun. I love that she is now smiling with her eyes. So cute!
