Happy Birthday Brooklyn!!

Brooklyn turns 6 today! For reals!? I can barely believe it. Just yesterday I was meeting this tiny little 2 year old who could barely walk and talk. She has grown up so fast and into such a beautiful little lady. She looks so much like her daddy still (but a much more pretty version). We are having a little party for her next weekend but we were able to have her from Friday to yesterday before she left for California with her Mom. We let her open 2 small presents to hold her over until next weekend. She could not talk about anything but the gifts she was getting all weekend. She asked us to guess what her favorite part of birthdays were and our clues were: It starts with a P and has a vowel in it....hmm it was a tough one to guess. :) When we asked her earlier what she wanted it was the same answer we got last year for her bday and also for last Christmas-Pet Shops. She is the biggest fan of those toys. I dont get it but Im glad she gets a kick out them so much. She loves to set them all up and have parties for them and have some of them be mean pets that come and ruin the party or kidnap smaller animals and then we spend the rest of the time chasing the mean ones out of town and/or disciplining them (which includes time out, taking away their favorite toys and making them take a bath and brush their teeth) How awful :) She has quite the imagination and she is so much fun to have around. She loves her Daddy and thinks he is sooo funny. I know it makes Luke happy to watch her grow and become such a big girl. He is so great with her and I love watching them together. Luke is the best daddy anyone could ask for and Brooklyn and I are so lucky to have him be the Daddy of our family. We love Brooklyn so much and enjoy every minute of our time with her. We cant wait to see what the next 6 years bring for our beautiful girl.

Our Valentines

Earlier in the week Brooklyn came over and helped make VDay cookies. They turned out very lovely thanks to her amazing decorating skills. She and Luke each made me a Valentine as well. I love them and still have them up on the fridge :) On Saturday Luke gave Brooklyn and I beautiful flowers (Brooklyn's were pretty purple tulips) and my dear sweet husband even gave me a massage certificate from Kura Door Japanese Spa. That evening Luke and I had reservations at The New Yorker. Dinner was very good and we were very lucky to have something work out last minute! It was a great night and our last Valentines without having to get a babysitter. Thank you Lucas for making it a very special day for me!! I love you and am so lucky to have you for my Valentine always and forever!

Were Having a Baby!

This week marked my 21st week of Pregnancy. I recently had my mid-point ultrasound and the Dr says everything looks great and right on schedule with my due date May 19. Luke and I are thrilled and couldn't be more happy. We are so blessed to be able to add to our family. Brooklyn is also very excited and wants to know everyday when the baby will be big enough to come out and play. At 16 weeks we had an ultrasound to determine the sex. Baby Benik is a little Princess. We cant wait for her to arrive and hope and pray that we are everything she could ask for as she is already our prayers answered and dreams come true.
The following pictures are from my 16 week ultrasound. I have a video of her at 2o weeks that I will try to post soon. Shes getting stronger everyday as I feel her kicking more and more. Its truly amazing to feel your little miracle moving around inside of you and I am so lucky to have the chance to experience this along side my best friend and husband Lucas!

Baby Benik's 1st outfit and so appropriate... :)
Ill try to keep updated with pictures and the going ons of the Benik family as we prepare for our little one to arrive.

Christmas at the Cabin

We went to our family cabin in Bear Lake for Christmas this year. There was tons of snow and it was definitely a white Christmas! We drove up the Tuesday before and hung out with the family until Friday night. This year we were lucky enough to have Brooklyn from Christmas afternoon through Saturday night. We picked her up in Park City, went back to the cabin for a day and then home for a day. We did lots of lying around, played games, and made/ate WAY too many treats, snowmobiling and sledding were at the top of the list also. The best part of the week (for me) was the Christmas Tree that Lucas, Steven and Nate hand cut down for us. They had to drive into town and get a permit, drive up to the mtn and go saw themselves a tree. It took them hours! They were oh so proud of it too. I have to admit it was a very tall tree (it went all the way to the vaulted ceiling top), a little sparse in some areas but who were us girls (who stayed home) to complain? The picture of the men with their tree will for sure make me smile always. On Christmas Day Santa brought us lots of good stuff. Brooklyn got the Tag Reading System (which is way cool btw), a dollhouse and all its accessories including a sweet ride aka Minivan, some Littlest Pet Shops, Brats dolls, Tinkerbell toys, games, movies, and one of her favorites- a self inflating Whoopie Cushion. She loves to make you think its you doing all that "pooting" (her more disgusting word for tooting)!! Here are a few pics from our ultra awesome Holiday. Hope you all had a Very Merry Christmas. Happy 2009!!!

Either shes excited about her dollhouse or someone spiked her hot cocoa...
