Lola- Twenty One Months

Our little Lolie is getting to be such a big girl! In only 2 and 1/2 months she turns TWO!! Here is the latest on Lola at 21 months old:

Weight/Height- Not really sure. Our home scale says she's around 19.5-20 lbs. She wears clothes size 18-24 months and is in between shoe sizes 4 and 5

Sleeping- Goes to bed around 8/830p and wakes up between 730 and 8a. Takes a 2-3 hour nap around 12 or 1p

Eating- She has got to be the worlds worst eater! She is super picky and would rather snack all day than eat regular meals. And she's also a terribly messy eater. She loves to squish and squeeze her food and paint it all over herself and her highchair and the minute she decides she's done eating (and if you're not watching her like a hawk) she throws or dumps her food all over the floor- every time, without fail. She still drinks her milk from a bottle. I have tried every style of sippy cup to get her to use one for her milk (since she has no problem drinking her juices and water from one) with no luck. She only wants her milk from her ba-ba. And so I let her. I'll probably get in trouble for it at her 2 year well check and finally have to ditch it but for now it works and I don't really care how :) Her favorite foods currently are: mac and cheese, yogurt, avocado, bacon, cheese, pistachios, black beans and rice from Cafe Rio, cuties (mandarins), pepperoni slices, salt and vinegar chips, and pretty much anything sugary and sweet- candy, chocolate, ice cream, you name it. And if she sees it, she doesn't let up until she gets it!

Has not cut any new teeth but I think she is working on her 2-year molars as she has been quite the fussy britches these last few days

Play- still loves to play with her babies, her farm set, sissy's dollhouse (and really any of sissy's toys). She loves listening to music and often likes to 'dance' to it. Her favorite songs to sing along to right now are Wheels on the bus, Itsy bitsy spider and If you're happy and you know it. She now likes to watch shows on TV and her favorites of those are Little Einsteins, Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse, and Dora the Explorer

She loves to imitate especially saying the prayer, putting makeup on, and taking care of her babies- i.e. trying to put clothes on them or wrap them in blankies, changing their diaper and hugging, kissing and singing to them

She still really loves to read books and would sit and read every book she owns with you if you had the time. She likes to turn the pages herself and point and make comments on the pictures while you read.

She has recently become interested in the potty. Every time she hears me go the bathroom she wants a turn too. She has me take her diaper off and put her on the toilet and then she 'pushes' really hard for a second and then she claps to say she's done. So far nothing has actually come out but at least she gets the idea right?!

She still absolutely adores her daddy and every time he's around she wants him to hold or carry her and when he comes back from being gone she will lay on the loves and kisses like he was gone for months. She now does a mwah sound when she kisses you and she grabs onto your neck (almost like she's choking you) when she gives you one. She has become a little more of a cuddler these last few weeks as well. She loves to lay on your lap with a blanket when she watches TV/a movie. When it's time for bed and when she wakes up she likes you to snuggle her for a few minutes and rub her back while she rests her head on your shoulder and sometimes when you're snuggling she'll softly pat your back or arm and hum to you

Her newest words are sissy, tay-tay, baby, juice and a few animal sounds- moo, quack, tweet, and oink

As sweet as she is, she can be quite the little beast- she loves to continue doing whatever you've just asked her not to, run away when you're trying to change her or dry her off after her bath, stick her hand in her dirty diapers while you're changing it, flip out when I try to do her hair then mess it up just after I finish, climb onto the kitchen and bathroom counters, get into the fridge, empty out drawers you forget to lock back up, color on the furniture, walls and herself if someone leaves markers or pens out (Brooklyn), throw major whining fits/smaller tantrums when she doesn't get her way, steal toys from other kids or pretend to share with them only to pull the object back and run away when they go to take it. I'm sure there's more but you get the idea... She is a princess and with that comes high maintenance and occasionally a little brattiness :)
