Look Who's EIGHT!

I can not believe that this little baby girl is now eight years old!! I have really enjoyed watching Brooklyn grow and change these last 6 years into the awesome kid she is today. She is funny, creative and friendly/sweet with everyone she meets. She is a great big sister to Lola and very much loved in our family. Her actual birthday was this last Tuesday and Daddy and Lola met her at Shivers for dinner with her mom, step-dad, and their kids (I was sick). Then we gave her a small birthday at our house this weekend with cake and presents and went to Porcupine for a special Bday breakfast per her request. Brooklyn is going to be baptized next weekend and we are so excited for her special day!

Brooklyn with all her Birthday gifts.
Her two favorite gifts (after her big one) were the Squinkies palace and the metal detector (from Daddy). She has been talking about a metal detector since last summer and she was really surprised and excited to see it.
Last we had her open her new helmet which she knew right away meant she was getting a bike! She was even more excited when Daddy told her she would get to go with us today to pick one out herself.
Posing Brooklyn-style in her new helmet :)
Lola was quite fussy during presents (hence the lack of smile) because we locked her in her highchair, to give her sister some space, and because she couldn't understand why only Brooklyn got to open the presents, but she really was excited and happy for her sissy... on the inside :)
Here is a quick update of Brooklyn's hobbies, interests and likes/dislikes at 8 years old:
Favorite color- purple
Favorite Toy- Squinkies
Favorite subject at school- art
Best friends- Maggie and Kennedy
Favorite activity- going to Chuck E Cheeses
Favorite movie- Home Alone 3
Favorite TV show- Spongebob Squarepants
Best trait- sense of humor
Dislikes- cleaning her room and getting her hair brushed and done
Favorite pastime- reading
Currently involved in- Art class and Piano lessons
What she wants to be when she grows up- an illustrator of childrens books

Happy 8th Birthday Brooksabee! We love you and are so proud of the amazing girl you are!
